Lantern
Lantern turns dense cancer clinical trials and research studies into plain, everyday language you can actually read. Search open trials from ClinicalTrials.gov by diagnosis, then open any trial for a clear explanation: what it is studying, who it is for, what taking part means, where things stand, and questions you could bring to a care team.
Search the medical literature from PubMed, then open a study for a calm read on what it shows, what it does not prove, and how much weight to give it.
WRITTEN ON YOUR DEVICE
Lantern’s explanations are written by Apple’s on-device AI. Nothing you search is sent to a third-party AI service. On iPhones that support it, Lantern can also use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, and never anything else.
WHAT LANTERN IS FOR
- Understanding a trial before a conversation with a doctor
- Making sense of a study you found or were handed
- Reading research in plain language, without the jargon
WHAT LANTERN IS NOT
Lantern is for education only. Its plain-language explanations and study reviews are written by AI from public information and may be imperfect. Lantern does not tell you whether anyone qualifies for a trial, and it does not tell you what a study means for you or your loved one. Only a care team can decide that.
